Theo Wanne AMBIKA IV Hard Rubber Tenor Mouthpiece

The deepest and darkest tenor mouthpiece by Theo Wanne, fuller and richer than it ever was before!

The AMBIKA IV has a full-bodied sound reminiscent of the vintage 1940’s mouthpieces, but with much improved projection, ease of play, and dynamics.  The previous version of this mouthpiece was incredibly popular with its endorers, but since the release of this model 100% of these artists have switched over.

In order to achieve these improvements Theo has added his famous 'Stadium Chamber' into the mix, trumping the previous standard large chamber.  The Stadium Chamber mimics the shape of a football stadium and eeks out even more bottom end in the frequency range.

Added to that this the new Ambika includes the 'Shark-Gill' baffle, which incorporates striking grooves down the length of the baffle, helping to the draw the air closer to the mouthpiece surface, thus making the airflow more efficient.

Further to this the Ambika IV now includes the new 'Wave Baffle', where there is a highly complex combination of convex and concave shapes that produce a 'sine wave' shape, too complicated to shape by hand - hence their use of the top range CNC machine!  Not only is the Ambika a rich and dark sounding mouthpiece, but it's incredibly responsive due the use of these new technologies.

It should also be mentioned that the hard rubber material used is of the highest quality, hence the price is the same as the metal version of the Ambika.  There are no accelerants, additives or carbon black.  It is pure, like the vintage hard rubber from the 1930’s through 50s.   Such pure hard rubber is more expensive than the brass and gold plating combined. The Hard Rubber Ambika also uses a thin body, allowing its premium hard rubber to fully resonate, giving quite a fantastic sound. Now you can hear the full magic in this type of hard rubber. If you like the vintage sound, you will love the Ambika IV.
