The BWO20 is their top-level bronze model and it brings us some adjustments in intonation and further advances in key mechanism and layout. The best has just got better!!

The Yanagisawa BWO20 baritone saxophone is the real deal when it comes to top-notch baritone saxophones. With its bronze body, it brings a warm, rich tone that sounds huge. Smooth and easy to play, it hits all the right notes every time. Whether you're rocking out with jazz, keeping it classic, or exploring new sounds, the BWO20 has your back with its killer sound and rock-solid reliability. This saxophone means serious business.
The BWO20 is considered one of Yanagisawa’s ‘Elite’ models, and in practicality, this means that there are some refinements in mechanism beyond what is available through the BWO1 and 2 models. Firstly, the BWO20 includes a ‘fully ribbed’ construction – this means that there are strips of brass soldered onto the body of the sax, on to which the various pillars are then soft-soldered themselves. This gives added ‘body’ to the tone while offering even further solidarity of design. Secondly, the Elite series offers double arms on the lowest and most vulnerable keys, again adding stability to the setup.

Could this be the best modern baritone in the world?! The bronze fully ribbed construction gives off the most exquisite and pleasing sound imaginable. Okay, it’s true, I’m not a baritone player, but if you pick this beast up and give it some stick, everything becomes easy! I think that Yanagisawa’s attention to detail when it comes to improving something that has been considered an industry-leading baritone for years is admirable. I find their entire WO series of baritones an absolute joy to play – the sound is the most responsive of all baritones I’ve ever tried; playing down through to the lowest register feels like an effortless process, and mechanically it is a dream!
